Preamble

The philosophy and objectives behind the Bachelor of Physiotherapy program.

About the Program

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.Th.) is a 4-year undergraduate degree program designed to train students in the science and practice of physiotherapy. The program combines rigorous academic study with extensive clinical training, preparing students for evidence-based practice in diverse healthcare environments.

Program Philosophy

Our program is grounded in the belief that a physiotherapist must be both a skilled clinician and a reflective practitioner — one who integrates scientific knowledge with compassionate patient-centred care, and who contributes meaningfully to health outcomes across all patient populations.

Program Objectives

To develop knowledge and skills for effective physiotherapy practice in diverse healthcare settings

To equip students with evidence-based clinical reasoning and sound clinical judgement

To cultivate professional, ethical and legal practice standards in all physiotherapy graduates

To foster an attitude of lifelong learning, research, and continuing professional development

To promote community health awareness and the role of physiotherapy in preventive healthcare

To train competent physiotherapists capable of joining global healthcare teams
